Wayne Trace hosted the Paulding County Wrestling Tri-Meet on February 1st. Intra-County competition is stiff, but the Raiders pulled out a win from both the Panthers and the Archers on this brisk evening.

WT Raiders faced Paulding first and won 60-6. Individual winners for the Red, White and Blue were Corbin Kimmel, Conner Blankenship, Kendal Franklin, Graiden Troth, Dyson Scott and Kaden Woolbright all by forfeit. Winners by pin were Jared Pierce, Hunter Long, Jarrett Hornish and Nate Osborn.

Next the Raiders took on the Antwerp Archers, winning 57-6. Individual winners were Corbin Kimmel, Kendal Franklin, Hunter Long, Graiden Troth, Dyson Scott, Nate Osborn and Kaden Woolbright by forfeit. Winning by decision was Jared Pierce. Winners by pin were Conner Blankenship and Jarrett Hornish.

For Archer wrestling, 7th grader Zac Salas, 8th grader Griffin Kosch, and junior Eli Reinhart all went undefeated on the evening with two wins and one pin each. As a team, Antwerp finished the night with one win over Paulding on the strength of their two pins and one technical fall.  This was also a night in which Eli Reinhart and senior Caleb Wilson avenged losses from earlier in the season.

Paulding Coach Porter commented on the Panthers’ performance, “We took some tough losses tonight. We plan to practice harder and push more this next week and a half to get ready for GMC where we hope to get some redemption for these tough losses.”
