Heritage & Monroeville Lions Clubs Hold Joint Meeting

The Heritage Lions and the Monroeville Lions held a joint meeting on January 11 at St John Lutheran Flatrock Church. Lions District Governor Jerry Zeigler spoke on the theme “Serve From The Heart” and explained the difference between begrudgingly helping out, and giving of oneself unconditionally to benefit others. Gov. Zeigler never forgot an act of generosity his family received from the Lions chapter in his boyhood home town after a terrible fire destroyed their barn. That kindness has motivated him to serve in the Lions now for over 55 years.

Gov. Zeigler welcomed four new members to the Heritage Lions club. From left to right is Jack Clear (sponsor), Jodi Meyers, Pam Birch, District Governor Jerry Ziegler, Ken Sorg, Gerry Franke, Jan Hockemeyer (sponsor), and Cindy Wolf (sponsor).

The Heritage Lions motto is “We Serve” and we welcome anyone who wishes to help their local community to contact a Heritage Lion. The Monroeville Lions were the host chapter for this meeting and provided the refreshments.
