Shop Small Saturday Details in Antwerp Planned

Shop Small Saturday committee members met to plan all the activities for the day on November 27, 2021. Pictured here are Antwerp Chamber members (l-r) Angel Steiner, Sue Fowler, Denise Coleman, and Lora Lyons.

Shop Small Saturday is approaching quickly and Antwerp Chamber of Commerce’s plans are in place with local businesses to make the day an exceptional shopping experience and start to the holiday season. Local businesses are prepared with special deals and sales as well as ready to participate in a Scavenger Hunt for shoppers on the 27th from 9am thru 12pm.

A Welcome Center will be set up at the Antwerp VFW at the corner of Cleveland and Railroad Streets. The shoppers can pick up a Shop Small bag and a coupon page for all the businesses. This will be the place to also sign up to participate in the Scavenger Hunt. Bring your team (prize will be awarded for Best Team Name!) and gather your instructions and clues for the day. Receipt drawings will also take place at the end of the afternoon. Do your shopping & scavenging & then bring those receipts back to the Welcome Center to be entered into the drawings.

Did you know…

If each of us spent $100 a year more on local businesses instead of chain stores or online outlets, it would put an extra $3 million a year into our economy, not only that but it would create thousands more jobs every year.

Shopping local is an essential asset to small town communities for their existence. When you buy from a small local business you are not paying for a third vacation home for some CEO. You are paying for dance lessons, you are buying a little-league uniform. You are putting food on a family’s table and sending a student to college. You are making the American Dream come true for somebody in your community. Somebody you probably know. And then they will do a little happy dance.
