Saturday, October 30th dawned a little misty and a tad gloomy, but all the better for Halloween festivities across Paulding County. The atmosphere was perfect for some spooky and fun costumes and music and … of course — CANDY!
The annual Halloween parade of the village of Antwerp began a couple hours earlier than usual this year due to the Antwerp football team playing in the playoffs that evening. Children and adults alike paraded their creative costumes down Main St. to the Fire Department for a costume judging contest. Judges for the afternoon were Antwerp Chamber board members — Tom VanVlerah, Sue Fowler, and Veronica Wright. The Fire Department chief, Bob Addis, MC’ed the event calling the categories forward for the judging. Below are the results of the contest — 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each category received a cash prize (thank you Antwerp Fire Fighters!)
