THE POWER OF MOMENTUM

By: Doris Applegate

Today we see the importance of momentum (a force of procedure). Once you were born again of the Holy Spirit of God and started your walk with Jesus Christ, (your Lord and Savior), do not slow down your pace, but keep running the ‘race’ to the end. Yes, we are in a spiritual race to win. When evil spirits throw ‘dirty darts’ of temptation, you must recognize these as a plot to stop your momentum. Our minds must stay upon the word of God and obey what it says.  This is our spiritual food that energizes us to run the race. There is a prize that Jesus gives to those who keep on to the end. Any negative thought must be quickly discarded for a positive one. Jesus Christ never thought or said a negative word. If “I can’t” comes into your mind and you feel it is too hard to go on, remember the verse in Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” As we draw upon the word of God we get our ‘second wind’ so to speak and keep moving. When we lose our momentum,  it is harder to ‘catch up’. Losing this spiritual race is not an option. We have the Holy Spirit as our very own helper, but the spirit of God is gentle and must be asked into our need. As you start to get tired and feel like quitting, call our the helper and see how things will improve. Remember that Jesus said “I will be with you to the end” you are not alone. Be encouraged.

As you started running you felt sop full of pep, you were so young and strong and balanced in each step. There was no thought of quitting or turning from the race, until the fiery darts of satan, my good thoughts did replace ‘Oh I’m so tired, I can’t go on’ ‘I’ll never make it to the end’ and on and on these thoughts around until you feel a power strong, it is the helper at your side and now your thoughts align with God’s.

Momentum lost but now regained will  make the devil feel great pain.
