SMALL TOWN HEARTS, GREAT BIG GOD

Four area women are traveling nearly 15,000 miles to deliver hope.  This Is Hope, a local missions based non-profit, is heading to Uganda, Africa in June. The team will be sharing the hope of Christ through this medical mission trip.  They will be conducting medical camps, providing hygiene & birthing kits, ministering in prisons & orphanages, and providing nutrition to the impoverished and malnourished villages.

Their mission is simply this: So the poor have hope and injustice shuts her mouth. Job 5:16

Director Cindy Young had a vision in 2013 that would develop into “This is Hope.” Since that time, her organization has built an orphanage, constructed houses for the elderly and dug 2 wells for the desolate villages.  This is Hope provides ongoing medical care and financial support for surgeries and treatments for illnesses such as tuberculosis, malaria and cancer.  They have also provided a van to transport patients to obtain medical help who couldn’t otherwise get to the medical centers.

When asked what promoted her to start this ministry, Cindy replied, “They needed more than child sponsorship. They needed help for the family as a whole.”
