Paulding County Exceeds 1,278 Vaccinations

February 4, 2021, Paulding, Ohio –We are proud to announce that with the coordination between Paulding County Health Department and Paulding County Hospital combined, both entities have been able to vaccinate 1,278 healthcare workers and community members thus far. Both entities have been working closely with the State of Ohio and remain committed to provide safe and effective COVID-19 vaccinations to currently eligible residents of Paulding County.

Currently, the quantity of COVID vaccine received from the State is not meeting the demand of our current eligible groups. We are administering the limited amount of vaccine received from the State as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Each week approximately 200 eligible individuals are being vaccinated in Paulding County. Last week, Paulding County Hospital received vaccine from the State and vaccinated just over 100 currently eligible individuals. Paulding County Health Department also received vaccine from the State and vaccinated approximately 100 currently eligible individuals These numbers are subject to change without notice, depending on the quantity of vaccine being shipped weekly to Paulding County from the State.

We sincerely appreciate the communities support and patience as we work through the process of providing vaccines to eligible individuals in our community who wish to receive it, following the State of Ohio’s phased approach. It is important to remember that precautions are still needed to slow the spread of the virus. Please continue to wear a mask, wash your hands, and social distance.

PCHD WORKING TO ASSURE ALL ELIGIBLE PEOPLE CAN BE VACCINATED

Given the limited COVID-19 vaccines Paulding County is receiving each week, Paulding County Health Department and its partners are working together to ensure that all people who are currently eligible have opportunities to be vaccinated.

PCHD appointments may be limited during February as school personnel are vaccinated and we perform targeted outreach to vulnerable people who are at the greatest risk for severe illness.

We’re working to identify people who are at increased risk and face obstacles to accessing vaccines due to limited transportation and other factors.

Other Paulding County vaccine providers will continue to receive vaccine allocations to serve the eligible public.

Each local provider handles scheduling and registration differently.

As the Health Department receives updates on our availability of vaccine, this information will be provided.
