SPRING FLING CHARITY EVENT EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS for HCYC

Mark Schlatter (Christian Community Health Care) & Debi Knoblauch (Harlan Christian Youth Center) celebrate with Dennis Bennett, Spring Fling Director

It might have been easier to give up and wait until next year to put together a community fundraiser amid all the uncertainties we have faced this spring and summer. But old fashioned determination prompted Dennis Bennett, Event Director, to forge ahead when the Spring Fling Charity Event was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And God blessed that step of faith. With the cooperation of staff from Harlan Christian Youth Center and Christian Community Health Care, along with the event volunteers, professional performers, and the Grabill Country Fair Committee, the Spring Fling was rescheduled for August 1st. It was a success beyond expectations, primarily due to the generous supporters who attended and helped provide an all-time record number of donations!

To date, the Spring Fling has raised over $8000.00 for the community outreach ministries of Harlan Christian Youth Center and Christian Community Health Care. This will help HCYC continue to provide free K-12 after-school programming for area youth, along with a Friendship Class for those with disabilities and special education needs. The funding will also assist CCHC in offering free medical services, as well as addiction and mental health counseling, for vulnerable families throughout northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.

If you were unable to attend the Spring Fling, you can still participate by visiting ChristianCommunityHealthCare.org/Spring_Fling_Charity_Event where you can see the list of 2020 event sponsors and make a donation of your own. And watch for the Spring Fling to return to downtown Grabill in April 2021 for another great day of fun and entertainment.
