Santa Came to Antwerp; Children Shop w/ A Cop

Pictured here are Officer Damien Esparza, Officer Ron Weck and Officer Jesse May with Santa.

Santa Claus came into the Village of Antwerp on the Fire Engine on Saturday, November 30th by way of Main St. He headed for the Fire Station which was decked out with Christmas decorations for just for the Big Guy himself! Kids and parents began to flock to the station to sit with Santa and tell him if they were naughty or nice this year, and to let him know what is on their Christmas Wish List.

Santa’s Workshop was also set up for the kids to Shop with a Cop. The Antwerp Chamber members provided $5 gifts for the kids to purchase for their loved ones. Chamber volunteers were ready to help the kids tag and wrap their gifts too after the police officers helped them pick out their presents.

182 gifts were sold this day – a boon for the Antwerp businesses and a win for kids getting a chance to do their own shopping.

Thank you to the Antwerp Fire Department and Auxiliary for hosting this festive event and to the Antwerp Chamber of Commerce for providing a fun and safe way for children to do some of their own Christmas shopping.
