The Antwerp Chamber is starting a reading campaign to encourage kids to get outside and read. Antwerp Chamber members will be hiding zip lock freezer bags around town, and inside you will find a book and a little note. When you find a bag, read the book! If you really like it you can keep the book and replace it with another book from your own library, or you can put the book back in the bag and rehide it so someone else can find it and enjoy it.
Antwerp Chamber members will be collecting books appropriate for all ages. If you have books in your home that your children do not read anymore and you would like to donate, you can drop them off at Papa Oley’s Pizzaria. Books should be in good condition and be the size that can fit into a one or two gallon size Ziploc bag.
Reading together with your child helps to increase their vocabulary and instill a love of reading that can stay with them the rest of their lives, plus the exercise that is gained by having to go out and find the books.
