MUSICAL TRIBUTE To OUR VETERANS

On November 4, 2018, the Antwerp Community Band will present a concert in honor of all those who serve their fellow citizens: veterans of the armed services, our police, firemen and emergency medical technicians.

This year, we decided to present our fall concert near the Veterans’ Day holiday and make it a “Musical Tribute to Our Veterans and Heroes”, with a sort of “Patriotic Pops” playbill. Earlier this fall, our band historian brought an Antwerp Community Band concert program dated September 22, 2001, to rehearsal. We were all reminded of that concert, only eleven days after the awful events of 9/11, and how, at a critical time, music helped to bring members of our community together. Seventeen years later, we still believe that we are more alike than different – we share a wonderful country, a great history, a great future and sincere gratitude for those who serve for the common good.

We hope to see our veterans and heroes and their families and friends at this concert given to recognize and thank them for their service. On the program: “America the Beautiful”, the rousing march “Americans We”, the somber theme music from the movie “Gettysburg”, a “Salute to the Armed Forces” and more! Please join us for this musical tribute at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2018, in the Auditeria at Antwerp Local School.
