2018 Habitat For Humanity Hog Run

The morning dawned muggy and sunny as the walkers and runners flocked to the Paulding County Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 6th. The Habitat For Humanity Hog Run was about to commence and participants were gathering their t-shirts, tightening their shoe laces, and stretching their muscles in preparation for the run around town and the fairgrounds. The runners had a 5K loop that began inside the fairgrounds around some side streets in town and then back around the track to finish almost where they started. The walkers took a couple of circles around the extension building before making a 2 mile trek around the perimeter of the fairground buildings and the track ending in the same place as the runners.

The Race Hog had a goal – to beat all the runners back to the finish line. If he could not succeed in this goal, then he had to award those who beat him with a pound of bacon … not his though. Some good physical activity took place this morning with all the competitors and volunteers sharing some good fellowship in conjunction with raising money for Habitat For Humanity. This is an annual event sponsored by Habitat of Paulding County. Habitat has built several houses in Paulding County including Paulding, Melrose and Antwerp.
