Raiders Pick Up First Win

HAVILAND – After dropping the first set, the Wayne Trace volleyball team rallied to win the next three games to post a four-set victory over Continental Thursday night in non-league action.

The Lady Pirates outlasted Wayne Trace 26-24 in game one before the Raiders tied the match at a set apiece with a 25-17 victory in game two.

Game three saw the red, white and blue record a 25-19 win and the Lady Raiders went on to take the fourth set 25-15 to wrap up the match victory.

Kaylee Shepherd had 22 digs, 19 assists and three aces to lead the way for the red, white and blue while Miriam Sinn added seven kills, one ace, ten assists and 20 digs.

Olivia Egnor had 15 digs and four aces with Sadie Sinn recording 33 digs and an ace as well for Wayne Trace. Alli Hefner also added 16 kills and an ace for the Lady Raiders.

Meagan Speice and Morgan Hefner chipped in nine and five kills, respectively, with Katie Stoller dishing out eight assists.

Wayne Trace’s junior varsity evened its record at 1-1 with a 29-27, 25-18 win over the Pirates.

The Raider freshman squad fell to Ottawa Glandorf 25-6 and 25-15.
