Gerald M. Dangler, 80, passed away 6:38 PM July 26, 2018 at the Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born May 17, 1938 in Putnam County son of Marvin and Elvera (Brinkman) Dangler. On July 19, 1958 he married Linda (Noon) Dangler, who survives in Paulding. He retired in 1996 after 25 years from the Paulding County Highway Department. He was a retired farmer; and also previously worked for Goodrich, Woodburn, IN; Knoblauch Brothers; Jay Dangler Excavating; and was currently employed by Dangler Excavating. He was a band member with the Len Collier Band for 26 years, and played for 1,300 weddings and 600 wedding anniversaries. Music was his passion.

He is also survived by his children: Ryne (Chris) Dangler, Jackie (Rick) Pease, Jay (Rocky) Dangler, and Michelle (Curtis) Gawronski, all of Paulding; grandchildren: Stephanie (Mark) Wolfle, Danielle (Mike) Wiesehan, Kayla (Brett) Belew, Jayson (Mackenzie Fleagle) Dangler, Derrick (Andrea) Pease, Zachary Gawronski, Nicholas Dangler, and Michael Dangler; great grandchildren: Merrick and Maddock Wolfle, Madison and Duke Wiesehan, and Evelyn Dangler; four sisters: Janice (Larry) Bibler, Margie (Marvin) Frankart, Joanie Howell, all of Continental, and Rhonda (Doug) Smalley, Paulding.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and a granddaughter, Chelsie Christina Dangler.

Funeral services were conducted 11 AM Monday, July 30 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, with Pastor Mike Pennington officiating. Burial followed in St. Paul Cemetery, Paulding.

Visitation was 2 – 8 PM Sunday, July 29 at Den Herder Funeral Home. There was also visitation on Monday from 10 AM until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggested donations made to Paulding County Hospital Home Health or CHP Hospice, Defiance.
