Woodburn Lions Club celebrates 80 years

Founded in 1938 by local businessmen and community leaders, the Woodburn Lions Club is celebrating its 80th Anniversary this year. Our motto “We Serve” has always been and still is the primary function of our organization.  While we continue to serve our community, we recognize that there are many other community organizations that also serve Woodburn. Without all of these, as well as many individuals and churches, our city would not be able to serve the residents of our fine community.

To celebrate our anniversary, we will be hosting a Community Service Open House on Sunday, April 22 at the Community Center. The event will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. All are invited. We will be providing free cake and ice cream. Please bring a canned good for the food bank and good clean clothes for the clothing bank.

The following organizations will be offering information, programs, future plans, etc. on how they are here to serve our residents: Woodburn Lions Club, Allen County Library – Woodburn Branch, Woodburn Community Association, City of Woodburn, Woodburn Community Food Bank, Woodburn Chamber of Commerce, Maumee Township Trustee, Maumee Fire Department, Woodburn Police Department, Woodburn Partnership for Downtown Development and Woodburn Community Historical Society.
