Jonyvan Johnson and Jaxson Savieo are both New Haven wrestlers who earned the right to compete at state this year in Indianapolis. Johnson, competing in the 182 weight class, had a record of 38-2 going into the match. Jaxson Savieo came in at the 195 weight class and his record was 43-1. He fought hard, but came up a little short and lost his match Friday night when he fell to Shane Stits of Center Grove HS. Jaxson was not feeling well going into the match and he realized that he was not able to deliver his regular fight.

Jonyvan Johnson fought his way out of Friday night and into the Saturday morning foray after defeating Jeremy Torres of Portage HS. Johnyvan fell at 4:47 in his first match against Nathan Walton of Brownsburg, Indiana. Moving on to the consolation bracket, Johnson fell to Silas Allred of Shenandoah HS. Johnson placed 7th overall in the state match.

Both of these boys have had an excellent season and the NH wrestling family is very proud of these fine athletes.
