The Wayne Trace Lady Raiders hosted the Edgerton Bulldogs at the Palace on January 30th to compete in a game of basketball. The Lady Raiders have played an impressive season so far and didn’t show any signs of ending that streak now. As the clock counted towards the tossup, these two GMC rivals began to prepare themselves for conference gameplay.

The Lady Raiders started strong in the first quarter. They easily took a 10 point lead over the Bulldogs, adding 17 points to their score and only allowing Edgerton 7 points. While not scoring as highly, the Wayne Trace team kept the momentum going into the second quarter, increasing the point gap to 20. They added 13 points to the board, while the lady Bulldogs only managed 3. The halftime score was 30-10, with the Raiders holding a strong lead.

Coming back from the break, the Wayne Trace team stayed steady in their scoring, adding 12 more points to their running total. The Bulldogs fought, but they couldn’t holdup against the Raider defense, only garnering another 5 points to their score. The fourth quarter showed a different story than the others. In a final dash for the finish, the Edgerton Bulldogs used the last of their steam to score 14 points, their best quarter yet. Their defense was also on point, as they only allowed the Raiders to score 7 points. However, this final sprint proved not to be enough, and the Wayne Trace Raiders took the game with a score of 49-29.

Score by quarter:

WT – 17 13 12 7 = 49

Edgerton – 7 3 5 14 = 29
