Bicyclist Visits Payne Elementary; Baumle Signs Book

On August 29, Sara Dykman visited Payne Elementary. Sara is a 32-year-old biologist who is bicycling the entire migration route of the monarch butterfly. She started in Mexico, their overwintering location, in March, and has bicycled all the way to the lower part of Canada and is now on her way back to Mexico. By the time she finishes her journey in November, she will have put over 10,000 miles on her bike. She is the only person to have ever done this by bicycle. You can learn more about Sara and her mission on her website at http://www.beyondabook.org.

Paulding County natives, Roman and Kylee Baumle,  hosted Sara overnight in their home. Kylee is the author of  The Monarch: Saving Our Most-Loved Butterfly  (St. Lynn’s Press, April 2017).  Mrs. Baumle signed a copy of her book and presented it to the Payne Elementary library.
