Central Lutheran School Dedicates New Facilities on October 8

Central Lutheran School invites the community to join in a Service of Dedication on Sunday, October 8 at 2:00pm in the new gymnasium. Central Lutheran School opened its doors in 1952 with eight classrooms, an auditorium-gymnasium, kitchen, and cafeteria. Six classrooms were added in 1960, nearly doubling the capacity of the school. By 1982, plans were finalized for another expansion, including a music room, new cafeteria, and larger, updated kitchen. This change provided two rooms for every grade, plus Kindergarten. In 2014, Central moved forward with a plan to add a new gymnasium and an early childhood center. Central broke ground in August of 2016. The Early Childhood Center, including eight classrooms, an activity room, a conference room, a kitchen, and two teacher workrooms, opened its doors to students on the first day of school on August 16, 2017. Also included in Central’s expansion is a new school administration area with four offices, new reception space, and an updated, more secure front entrance. The new gymnasium is now complete, and Central Lutheran School is celebrating with a Service of Dedication on Sunday, October 8 at 2:00pm in the new gymnasium. All classes, preschool through 8th grade, and many Central Lutheran alumni will have the honor of participating in this special service. The community is welcome and encouraged to attend. Central Lutheran School is “Thankful for our Heritage, Committed to our Future”. Central Lutheran School has been a part of the New Haven community for 65 years. Central serves over 400 students and offers classes for students in 3-year old preschool through 8th grade.
