Recently, the AWS Foundation donated a buddy bench to Heritage Elementary School as they celebrate its 10th Year Anniversary. The buddy bench was painted by a local artist to place at the school as they partner with AWS to enhance the education of students with disabilities.
The buddy bench is a simple idea to eliminate loneliness and foster friendship on the playground. If a child wants someone to play with, they sit on the bench. That let’s others know they are looking for a friend to ask them to play. This spreads the message of inclusion and kindness!
