Latta Participates in 100th Anniversary Celebration of Camp Miakonda

Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) participated in the 100th anniversary celebration of Camp Miakonda in Toledo. The Boy Scout camp opened in 1917 and is the oldest in Ohio. Latta participated in the Boy Scouts growing up and was a camper at Camp Miakonda.

“Like many in Northwest Ohio, I have fond memories of my time spent at Camp Miakonda — from the world’s longest swimming pool, to the reptile pit, to summer and winter camps, to my fellow scouts and scoutmasters,” said Latta. “The camp has been instrumental in helping young people learn about the great outdoors and provides ample opportunities for them to learn, explore, and grow. I was honored to participate in the celebration of the camp’s century of service to our region’s youth.”
