The tournament that began on May 8 came to an end on May 22 after the game had been delayed due to rain the previous Friday. The Lady Archer’s delayed game against Crestview picked up again on Monday at Elida Middle School. The Antwerp girls have had a good run this year with up and coming pitcher Carly Hanes.

Coming off a 6-1 win against Continental on May 17. These girls would have been ready if it would have been played on schedule.

This game was not their best match since it was the day after graduation and the team just didn’t have the motivation to play their usually tough way. Minus the solo home run in the 1st inning, they held their own pretty well until the fifth inning when errors killed their chances of coming back from the 10-0 deficit that had been accumulated.

The Archers only two hitters for the night was Aylvia Devore and Chelsea Johanns with singles.

Coach Krista Ordway was very happy with her teams efforts in the season even with this loss.

Antwerp finished the season further up the bracket than all the other teams in the GMC even though they ranked fifth. Their overall standings were 13-7 for the season.

The Archers have a lot to look forward to in upcoming seasons with all the top young talent they have pulled in.
