Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity of Paulding County is once again sponsoring the annual Hog Run on September 24, 2016 at the Paulding County fairgrounds. As you travel around the county watch for the “green hog” advertising the Hog run.

There is still time to sponsor the “Hog Run”. If you get in early you can have the name of your business and or family on the shirt to be worn by the 5K runners and or walkers. Depending on the sponsorship there are also other promotional materials that would include your business. Sponsorships can be as much as $1000.00, $500.00, $250.00 and $100.00.  For more information please contact Habitat for Humanity at box 328. Paulding, Ohio. Walkers will be able to do a 2 mile walk in and around the Paulding fair grounds. Runners will go through the streets of Paulding.  Winners will receive prizes and the “Pink pig”will  be running again this year and the first 12 that cross the finish line before the pig will receive a nice prize.  First, second and third Prizes will be given for all ages.

Plans are also underway for children activities. Sassy the clown, the balloon maker, face painting and creating  your own colorful pumpkin will be all  free of charge while the adults are participating in the run and or walk.

Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m with the race starting at 10:30 a.m.

Following the race a pulled pork lunch will be offered from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. The meal is free but  a free will  donation will be accepted. The meal includes a sandwich, chips, cole slaw, beverage and cookies or cupcakes. The lunch is open to the community.  Early registrants will be offered refreshments.

An event like this needs lots of volunteers. If you would like to help contact Habitat or just show up September 24.

All proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity of Paulding County.  Plans are already underway for Home number nine to be built in the Antwerp area.
