Sierer, RogerRoger “Bucky” D. Sierer, age 72 died Wednesday, May 11, 2016.

He was born November 7, 1943 in Defiance, Ohio, the son of the late Ralph “Dean” and Bettie L. (Shook) Sierer. On August 22, 1975 he married Elaine M. (Cotterman) Lothamer. He was a 1961 graduate of Paulding High School. He attended Architecture School in Chicago, IL; was owner of Sierer Construction from 1975-1990; plant manager of Advance Building Systems (Wausau Homes) from 1990-1995; employed by Hartzog Lumber Company from 1995-2006; and bus driver for Paulding Exempted Village Schools. He was a 16-year Paulding Village Councilman; a member of Paulding United Methodist Church; secretary of CIC; charter member of John Paulding Historical Society and Museum where he served on Board of Directors from 2008 until present; Paulding County Democratic Chairman and Paulding County Election Board; Chairman of PCFA; Founder of Paulding High School Athletic Hall of Fame and Chairman of the Selection Committee. Roger coached high school basketball, baseball, little league and softball. He was an avid IU basketball, Tin Caps and Detroit Tiger fan, flea market collector, and collector and co-owner of Baseball Cards of Paulding County. He was a 6-year cancer survivor.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Sierer, Paulding, daughters, Amy (Brian Rathbun) Laibe, Pandora, OH, Heather (Pat) Kohls, Kalida, OH; sons, Jeff Sierer, Bridgeport, TX, Eric (Ashley) Lothamer, Defiance; grandchildren, Stephanie, William, Molly, Emma, Ashley, Ericka, Erin, Brendon, Ryan, and great grandchildren, Landin and Hunter.

He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Switzer.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Monday, May 16 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, with Rev. Karen Stetins officiating. Burial will follow in Hedges Cemetery, Paulding County.

Visitation will be 2-8 PM Sunday, May 15 at Den Herder Funeral Home. There will also be visitation on Monday from 10 AM until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations made Paulding County Democratic Party; John Paulding Historical Society and Museum; or Paulding County Relay for Life.
