WLS Reading Celebration

Our Kindergarten – 2nd Grade classes recently hosted a reading celebration. Students invited guests to come to school and participate in various reading activities with them. The fun began with students reading a story with their guests and completing a reading activity. Guests ate lunch with the students and even went outside for recess! They also enjoyed an afternoon of learning games and crafts. The group learned about Dr. Seuss and how his characters were inspired by the animals he saw at the zoo. Students and guests then created their own animal character and wrote about it.
