The Blazers travelled to the Woodlan court on Tuesday, February 16. The Strautman Field House had a quite a few fans in the seats from both areas.

The game began with both teams off to finding their way in this battle. Eastside boys basketball has been a good team in recent years. Competing against Woodlan was very good in football and the competition continued this evening. The first period Eastside and Woodlan both were feeling the other team out for competition. Austin Fancher was already metaphorically stepping up to the plate. He was doing quite well by the end of the period. The first period ended 10-13 with the Warriors having a slight lead.

The second period Eastside made a comeback and more than doubled their first period score. The half finished 32-30, taking the lead back from the home team.

Wake me up Woodlan! The second half of the game was a completely different team on the court. I don’t know what happened but the defense was forcing the Blazers to turn the ball over time after time to the Warriors. These boys were on fire! The third period ended 40-49.

Would Fancher, Ben Schwartz and Andrew Krahn be able to keep up the offense in the fourth? It didn’t take long to realize that would be true. The game was an incredible win for these boys. The final score was 49-64 after Woodlan added another 15 points to the score card while the Butler team added only 9, giving the Warriors the victory.
