Paulding Overcomes Odds to Win Against Archers

The struggling Panthers, with Alex Arellano achieving 23 points, were able to turn the match around and with in a minute left of the fourth quarter, tied the Archers to go in a fifth quarter. The home team’s revival was in the fourth quarter and continued to the end.

With a minute and a half left, Paulding passed Antwerp in points. Antwerp’s Williamson scored 1 basket from the line to tie the game. Paulding’s Griffin Harder was under the basket and fouled with 1.1 seconds on the clock. Under lots of pressure from the screaming fans on both sides, Harder couldn’t make either shot, sending the game to the fifth quarter.

Antwerp’s foul trouble and caused Archers to slip—Brandon Pendergrast and Matt Jones both fouled out and both played hard.

The final score ended at 51-46 with Paulding winning the difficult match.
