assed away Friday June 19, 2015 at his home. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a lifelong resident of Woodburn. He retired as a farmer and employee of International Harvester. Mr. Thompson was a member of the American Legion Post 377 for 61 years, the Disabled American Veterans, Posey County 36, and he attended the Woodburn United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his children Mitchel (Vicki) Thompson of Harlan, Keith Thompson of Delta, Ohio and Tammy (Tom) Jahns of Toledo, Ohio, five grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Vera Thompson.
Visitation will be 5-9 Tuesday June 23, 2015 at Hockemeyer Funeral Home, 17629 State Road 37, Harlan Ind. The funeral will be 11:00 Wednesday June 24, 2015 at the Woodburn United Methodist Church 4300 Becker Rd., Woodburn, Ind. with visitation 1 hour prior.
