The Hicksville Rotary Foundation recently made a generous donation to Defiance County Senior Services of Hicksville for the purchase of 40 new chairs at the Hicksville center.

The chairs have made lunch and activities more comfortable for our community’s seniors and added a bright touch of freshening up to the Hicksville facility. Over the last two years, the senior center has benefited from many tremendous contributions from the Hicksville community and the Defiance County Senior Services Auxiliary. This has provided an inviting yet professional environment for the seniors enjoying meals and activities.

An updated brochure board will soon be added at the center providing valuable resources to seniors or caregivers. The center also offers a computer workstation complete with printer for those seniors who wish to play games, do some research, or communicate with others via electronic mail.

The Hicksville center has hours of operation Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. with lunch served (by advance reservation) at 12:00 noon. A calendar of activities is available at either center for pick up or online at www.defiance-county.com/seniorservices.

Several fundraisers and special events are scheduled for the coming months. Anyone interested in donating time, money, or usable items should contact Linda McMahon at the center for complete information.

Seniors and the entire Hicksville Senior Services staff would like to thank everyone who has played a part in making the center a great place for our older community members to spend time.
