The game was a slow start for both teams on February 17. Hilltop and Antwerp maxed out at the low score of 6 points each in the first period. The second period did not even hit that standard and the half finished at 11-9 and Hilltop had the small lead.

The Lady Archers ambitions picked up in the second half. The third quarter they matched their entire first half score and it finished at 18-18. Continuing to climb the ladder, the fourth quarter the Archers continued their momentum and took the lead 24 to 23 in their lowest scoring win of the season.

Rachel Williamson was the top scorer and closely followed by Peyton Short.

The Archers travelled to Wayne Trace on Thursday, February 19 for the final game of the regular season. The first quarter was a crushing defeat for the Lady Archers as they only hit 1 basket in the first time period while the Raider Nation team earned 17 points.

Period 2 the Archers came back in the basketball game and one-upped the Wayne Trace girls and the half finished at 25-11.

The scoring see-saw continued with the home team taking back the third period, gaining from their best quarter with 20 points and Antwerp adding 11. Shayna Temple attempted 3 – 3 point baskets and hit all of them in this game. Antwerp’s standout in this game was Hope Smith at 9 points for the match.

The Lady Archers put on a show in their best quarter yet in the fourth, nailing 17 points. Alas, it was not enough to take the victory with the 1st period different showing up in the final score.
