Linda L. (Derck) Pendergrast, 66, of Antwerp passed away Tuesday February 17, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. She was born on August 13, 1948 in Paulding County to Francis and Galen (Carr) Derck. She lived her entire life in the Antwerp area. She was a 1966 graduate of Antwerp High School.
On May 19, 1967, she was united in marriage to Arthur “Brooks” Pendergrast. In their 48 years of marriage they were blessed with two sons, Tad Robert (Tianne) and Scott Michael (Kim) and daughter, Amy Lynn (Jeff) Miller who survive. Her pride and joy was her five grandchildren: Michael Meek, Brandon and Jonathan Pendergrast, Nicholas Bailey and Megan Sha Pendergrast.
In 1972, Linda began her 37 year career at B.F. Goodrich, working in Information Technology as well as Shipping and Receiving. She retired in 2009. In her retirement she enjoyed time with her family, gardening, and cruises and traveling. In 2013, she enjoyed a dream vacation to Hawaii.
Linda is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren as well as sisters, Ann (Chuck) Wiedman, Jean (Paul) Reinhart, Mary (Ken) Donat and Cindy (Mike) Knight all of Antwerp, and brother John (Heidi) Derck, Columbus, Ohio; sister-in-law, Sonya Derck, New Haven, IN and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Thomas Cottrell, Robert, George & Ruth Derck.
Viewing will be on Thursday, February 19, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.
Her funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 20, with viewing one hour prior at the funeral home.
She will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery.
