UPDATE: Weather Emergency Reduced to Level 2

The roads are very dangerous in the area from the wind polishing the black ice on the roads along with heavy drifting.

The Level III Weather Emergency for Paulding County has been reduced to a Level 2. This does not mean that all roads are safe or clear in the county.

The vast majority of the roads are travel worthy but there are still gusts of wind that are creating white conditions and heavy drifting. The Level 2 suggests that you do not travel unless absolutely necessary and if you come across white out conditions, stop and wait for the conditions to improve.

Please use common sense if you must travel and use caution. Please allow for more time to travel.

Snow Vehicle Accident

Sheriff Jason K. Landers has issued a Level 3 Weather Emergency effective 12:15 p.m. this afternoon. This means that all roads in Paulding County are Officially Closed to non-essential personnel. Essential personnel are decided on a case by case basis. No one should be traveling the roadways unless it is an absolute necessity. Drifting and blowing snow have reduced visibility and made travel extremely hazardous. Few, if any snow plows are currently operating. The plows that may be out, are attempting to keep the main roads passable for emergency vehicles.

The majority of snow plows are not working until the wind subsides, as we are experiencing white out conditions. Individuals traveling the roadways in Paulding County are subjecting themselves to becoming stranded and/or arrested.

Conditions are being continuously monitored and when conditions warrant, the Level 3 Weather Emergency will be modified.
