Fred D Shaffer, 84, of Antwerp, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Fred was born in Jackson, Michigan on June 13, 1930, a son of the late Mary (Goff) and Clyde Shaffer.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy; worked at Dana Weatherhead, was the co-owner of Shaffer Hardware for 18 years; a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the American Legion, the Royal Arch Masonic Lodge, Hicksville & Mizpah Shrine.
He was united in marriage in 1951 to Janice Major, who passed away July 20, 2013.
Fred will be sadly missed by son, Randy (Lynn) of Antwerp; daughter, Denise (Gary) Molnar of Springfield & 4 grandchildren.
His service is Monday, 3 pm at First Presbyterian Church of Antwerp, with viewing one hour prior.
Viewing is also Sunday, 2-5 pm, with Masonic Rites at 5 pm, at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.
He will be laid to rest at Bethel Cemetery.
