Governor Honors Paulding business

Tony Burkley, Diane Jones, George Carter and Chase Eikenbary.

The Office of Ohio Governor John Kasich and  Lt. Governor Mary Taylor Honor State Bank sent representatives to Paulding to honor the work and dedication of three people: Tony Burkley of Napa True Value, Diane Jones of the State Bank and Paulding-Putnam Electric’s CEO George Carter!
Erika Willitzer announced on Thursday, May 15th, three local recipients of a prestigious award presented by the Ohio Governor representative, Chase Eikenbary.
Chamber President, Erika Willitzer, opened the morning by welcoming everyone, and stating how proud she is of the people she is presenting this award.
Diane Jones said the State Bank opened in 1979 and she has been there for the last 21 years. She stated, “Giving back to the community is what this is all about.”
George Carter has been with Paulding-Putnam Electric Cooperative since 2005. He explained how PPEC is expanding its presence over in the New Haven, IN with new representation on the board from that area. The business he represents is very “community-oriented” and that makes a difference.
Tony Burkley grew up in Paulding County. Having been a commissioner and a business owner, he understands what it takes to make government and business work together. He now represents this area at the statehouse. With Napa/True Value and being a representative of the people, he was honored. “One of the favorite parts of my job is interacting with customers. They’re more like friends.” said Tony.
