Patrol Investigates Three Vehicle Fatal Traffic Crash

Pioneer The Defiance Highway Patrol Post is investigating a three vehicle fatal traffic crash involving a motorcycle that occurred today at approximately 6:21 P.M. The traffic crash happened on State Route 15 at US 20 in Madison Township just south of the Village of Pioneer in Williams, County.

Delbert R. Drinnon Jr., age 27, of Mark Center was driving a 2004 Maroon Chevrolet S- 10 southbound on SR-15. Craig W. Parliament, age 66, was driving a 1992 Black Harley Davidson and was stopped at the intersection of SR-15 and US20. Yadira J. Garcia, age 16 was driving a 2000 Red Chevrolet Tahoe. The Chevrolet Tahoe was turning northbound onto SR-15 from US 20. Connie J. Shope, age 35, of Cygnet, Ohio was a rear seat passenger on the motorcycle with Mr. Parliament. Ricardo R. Garcia, age 40, of Adrian, Michigan was a front seat passenger with Miss Garcia. Also with Miss Garcia were two back seat passengers a Sandra S. Garcia, age 42 of Adrian Michigan and Alejandra, age 14, of Adrian Michigan. Drinnon was southbound on State Route 15 when he failed to maintain assured clear distance ahead and struck Parliament’s motorcycle that was stopped at the intersection. The motorcycle then went into Miss Garcia’s vehicle as she was turning northbound.

Mr. Parliament was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet. Mrs. Shope was transported by Samaritan to Parkview Hospital.

Assistance on scene was provided by the Williams County Sheriff’s Department, Pioneer Police Department, Pioneer Fire, Kunkle Fire, Williams County EMS and Williams County Coroner’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation by the Defiance Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
