Wayne Trace Girls Triumph Against Antwerp

Antwerp's Kaiya Jemison was honored following the game for the Archer Senior Night.

The Lady Raiders team went to Antwerp for the girls basketball game. This was a cold night on Thursday, February 6.

The JV game finished with the Wayne Trace Raiders prevailing 33-25 against the Archers.

No doubt about it, the varsity could have been a very close game. Both teams played very competitively. The first quarter ended with with only one point difference. Quarter number two was where the Archers fell behind, only earning five points. The Antwerp defense could not stop Erin Mohr and the rest of the team, with the first half going Wayne Trace 22-14.

The second half of the game was very competitive but the home team could not make up the difference lost in the first half. The fourth quarter was the best for Antwerp when Kaiya Jemison was hitting baskets from the outside fringe, several times adding 3 point shots to the scoreboard.

Antwerp’s Senior Night Followed the game where Kaiya Jemison was honored by her team, fans, friends and family. She was also given WKSD’s Player of the Game award.
