Incredible comeback for Paulding, but not enough win.
High Flyin’ Quarter for Paulding Girls
Paulding’s Faith Vogel grabs the rebound on the Knights side of the court.
The Crestview Knights took on Paulding at the Panther court on Thursday, January 23. Paulding JV Girls struggled the entire match, not able to recover.
Following the JV game the Lady Panthers varsity also grappled with getting the ball through the hoop. In the first quarter Paulding was only able to get four points and the same for the second, adding up to a half time deficit of 8-27. Height in this match played a huge part of this game for the Knights.
The second half of the game started the exact same with Crestview’s Riggenbach and Mercer continually fracturing the Paulding defense. Again, the Lady Panthers only had four for the third quarter.
The fourth quarter was different period! If they home team would play this way every quarter, there would be one team and no competition at the top of the NWC girls basketball. Paulding’s team led by Sierra McCullough, amassed an incredible 23 points for the last quarter alone, almost doubling their other three quarters combined! Alas, it was not enough to take the game and Crestview took home the win at 35-47.

Vogel led Paulding in rebounds with 7 and a team total of 21.
Paulding is now 5-9 and Crestview is 13-1.
Antwerp Crashes Against Edgerton Girls

The Lady Bulldogs travelled to Antwerp on Thursday, January 24 during the frigid temperatures of late January. The home basketball team grappled with the Edgerton offense and Antwerp fell 29-44. More pictures at westbendnews.net
