On July 3, 2013, a shooting incident involving Deputy Gary Hook from the Allen County, Ohio Sheriff’s Office took place in Paulding County, Ohio. The investigation has been completed by the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau. The investigation revealed Deputy Hook did properly follow Office Policy and Procedure and no charges will be filed against him.
The report compiled by the investigating detectives has been turned over to the Paulding County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review and consideration of charges to be filed against James Fleenor, who was the individual involved in the shooting. The next scheduled session of the Paulding County Grand Jury is August 8, 2013.
