Thelma A. Hill

Thelma A. Hill age 98 died February 11, 2013 at the Community Health Professionals / Hospice Center in Defiance Ohio.

She was born in Briceton Ohio on July 27, 1914 the daughter of Paul and Elizabeth (Blake) Martin. On June 6, 1931 she married Waveland C. Hill who preceded her in death on December 22, 1941. She was a former Deputy Treasure for Paulding County. She was a member of the Paulding United Methodist Church. She worked for the Paulding County Election Board. She was the Charter President of the Paulding County Professional and Business Club. She owned and operated Hill’s Confectionary for 4 years and the H & R Dress Shop for 17 years.

Surviving are two sons, Russell Hill of Fort Wayne Ind. and Paul (Margie) Hill of Paulding Ohio and a daughter Louella (Loren) Thomas of Paulding, Ohio. 9 Grandchildren: Joni (Larry) Brown, Mindy (Brad) Stevens, Julie (Don) Lauer, Brenda (Jerry) Smith, Terri (John) Coulon, Laurie Hill, Kim (Ron) Garrity, Pam (Chet) Moore, Jerry (Rachel) Thomas, 9 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, 3 sisters: Edna Ampsbaugh, Ilo Rothenhofer, and Erma Martin, 1 grandson David Hill, 2 Granddaughters: Wava Jean Colley and Judith Kay Thomas, 1 daughter in law Barbara (Brown) Hill.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the DenHerder Funeral Home Paulding with Pastor Ben Lowell officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery, Paulding Ohio. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the DenHerder Funeral Home from 3:00 to 8:00 PM and from 10:00 AM Thursday morning until service time

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Paulding United Methodist Church Roof Fund, Inpatient Hospice Center of Defiance, Ohio or the American Diabetes Association.
