Ernest D. Harshman, 75, of Payne died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana, Fort Wayne, IN.
He was born March 3, 1937 in Payne, the son of David W. and Bertha (Miller) Harshman. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Payne; Eagles #2405, Paulding, and Moose of Van Wert. He retired in 2002 from Payne Equity Exchange Company and was previously employed by Homier’s Implements.
He is survived by his stepdaughter, Fran (Jim) Litzenberg; granddaughter, Rachelle Litzenberg; and great-grandson, Samuel Lucas Litzenberg, all of Indialantic, FL; a sister, Joyce Barrand of Payne; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Mary M. Pickford.; two brothers: Paul E. Harshman and Harold Harshman; a sister, Kathryn Bruns; and a great grandson, David Lee Litzenberg-Loftin.
Funeral services were conducted December 7, 2012 at St. Paul United Methodist, Payne, OH. Burial followed in Lehman Cemetery, Payne. Visitation was December 6, 2012 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, and prior to services at the church.
