Donald E. Roehrs, 72, of Hicksville died Friday, December 7, 2012 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville.
He was born on January 1, 1940 in Defiance, OH, the son of the late Edgar and Ruth (Duerk) Roehrs. Donald was a 1958 graduate of Concordia Lutheran School in Fort Wayne, IN. On June 15, 1963, he was united in marriage to Loretta Morrison. Donald served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He worked at General Electric in Fort Wayne for 36 years. Donald was a member of Community Christian Center, Hicksville. He was a ham radio operator and loved woodworking.
Surviving Donald is his wife, Loretta of Hicksville; a son, Steven (Susan) Roehrs; a daughter, Pamela (Lou Roy Jr.) Roehrs; grandchildren: Cassandra, Tiffany, Amanda, Melissa, Sean; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers: Norman Roehrs, Kenneth Roehrs; special friends: Stacy and Kendra Lemper; and his dog, Duke.
Funeral services for Donald were December 10, 2012 at Community Christian Center, Hicksville. Visitation was December 9, 2012 at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville. Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville.
