Zion’s Lutheran Church in Defiance has been awarded a $1,200 grant from the Defiance Area Foundation (DAF) to support its Innkeepers’ Pantry and Community Meals program. The funding, drawn from both the DAF Community Fund and the Feed the Hungry Fund, will help sustain the church’s monthly outreach efforts.

On the second Wednesday of each month, Zion’s distributes between 85 and 100 bags filled with hygiene, cleaning, and paper products—items that are not eligible for purchase through food assistance programs. Alongside the pantry bags, the church also provides a hot, nutritious meal for individuals and families in need throughout the community.

The initiative offers not only practical support but also a warm atmosphere of connection and care.
