YOU SHALL SERVE NO OTHER GODS

And so it was, God had given the Ten Commandments to Moses for the benefit of His people. His chosen people.
They were literally caught in a cycle of addictions to sin, such as doubt, worry, fear, oh, and let us not forget the big one, unbelief. So, they wandered around in the desert for 40 years, and all the while they were not more than 250 miles (a few weeks’ journey) from the promised land. It’s incredible how the practice of sin can cause you not to enter your promised land.
In many cases, your breakthrough is just around the corner, but because you’ve been conditioned since childhood to wander in a sinful thought life, you become stuck in the same wandering pattern as your forefathers and the Israelites. Even after Moses presented them with the Ten Commandments, they still wandered for 40 years.
Well, I’m here today to tell you, brothers and sisters, that your wandering days are over! If you try this remedy that I have here for you today, you’ll never have another wandering day in your life. What’s this remedy you say? … Jesus! Encompassed in the 1st Commandment. Exodus 20:2-3 (NIV) states: “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me.”
That’s right, brothers and sisters, this one scripture can set you free! You no longer have to be a slave to fear, worry, doubt, or be influenced by what others think about you! You can just walk around all day being Free! How much does it cost, you say? NOTHING! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! IT’S FREE! That’s right, you heard me. FREE! ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS WORSHIP AND SERVE ONE GOD, THE TRUE GOD, THE LIVING GOD! JESUS CHRIST!
Matthew 4:10 (NIV) states, “Jesus said to him, ‘Away from me, Satan! For it is written: “Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.” Jesus himself used this scripture when he was being tempted. When satan was trying to influence him.
This verse highlights the importance of devotion and service to God. Serving God is the only habit or addiction that adds good things to your life.
Deuteronomy 6:14 (NIV): “Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you.”
This verse emphasizes the importance of devotion to God and warns against the influences of other people and their gods. You shall serve no other god before you.
So, Today, I encourage you to try Jesus. Make up your mind to serve Christ and Christ alone. You’ve tried everything else. Smile, and give it a try. Jesus loves you, and so do I.
Peace and Love,
—Pastor Dwayne
