The initiative, Below 100, focuses on five key areas that can improve officer safety and reduce deaths to an annual count that is below 100. Motorists can do their part by always moving over and obeying traffic safety laws.<br \/>\nEach year, for the last 70 years, more than 100 police officers have been killed in the line-of-duty in the U.S. The number is often much higher, as an average of 145 officers were killed annually from 2009-2013.<br \/>\nThe tenets of Below 100 are:<br \/>\n\u2022 Wear your belt<br \/>\n\u2022 Wear your vest<br \/>\n\u2022 Watch your Speed<br \/>\n\u2022 Remember What\u2019s Important Now (WIN)<br \/>\n\u2022 Remember complacency kills<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTroopers attending the training will learn different behaviors that could save their own lives. We are asking the public to do what they can, too,\u201d said Lt.
