Hope Smith of Antwerp<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Hope Eleanor Smith, 96, of Antwerp, passed away Thursday, January 3,
\n2013 at her residence.<\/p>\n

Hope was born in Defiance County, Ohio on August 18, 1916, a daughter of
\nthe late Mary Edna (Core) and Jesse Ellsworth Revert. She was a 1934
\ngraduate of Mark Center High School and earned a degree from
\nInternational Business College.<\/p>\n

On August 9, 1940, Hope married Max Arthur Smith in Wauseon, Ohio. The
\ncouple celebrated 71 years of marriage on August 9, 2011. Max passed
\naway on February 17, 2012.<\/p>\n

Hope was a bookkeeper at L. Smith & Son, Inc. from 1937 until the
\ncouple’s retirement in 1983.<\/p>\n

Max\u00a0 and Hope wintered in Lakeland, Florida for 16 years, where they
\nenjoyed socializing with their friends and attending Big Band concerts.
\nHope loved to spend time\u00a0 with her family, to read and to travel.\u00a0 She
\nwas also and avid basketball and football fan. She was a member of
\nAntwerp United Methodist Church.<\/p>\n

Hope will be sadly missed by her daughter, Carol (John) Chilcote of
\nAntwerp; son Rob (Jennifer) Smith of Melbourne, KY; grandsons, Scott
\n(Nadine) Cottrell of Falls Church, VA and Brad of Lexington, KY and a
\nspecial cousin, Marie Coy of Hicksville.<\/p>\n

Private services will be held at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, followed
\nby interment in Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp.<\/p>\n
