Opening night Antwerp is ready!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

People have been down on Antwerp football the last several years. It\u2019s stats and numbers have dropped. Players decreased, only one win last year. Next year it\u2019s already planned to not have a varsity team. It sounds depressing. None of this stopped the team.<\/p>\n

Eden travelled to the Archer field for the season opening game on Friday, August 29. The Bombers had the larger team and players, but it was Antwerp who took the game.<\/p>\n

In the starting kickoff Willie Jones received the ball and scored the first touchdown putting Antwerp in the lead 6-0 after missing the point after. Before halftime Antwerp posted more points to the brand new scoreboard, giving them the lead of 13-0.<\/p>\n

Edon wasn\u2019t going away with a shutout against Antwerp. In the third quarter they posted two touchdowns, neither adding the extra points.<\/p>\n

Antwerp also didn\u2019t stop at 13 just because they had the lead. Before the end of the game Antwerp added two more touchdowns along with the extra points and closed the game out at 27-12.<\/p>\n
