{"id":8093,"date":"2014-08-25T19:21:31","date_gmt":"2014-08-25T23:21:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/?p=8093"},"modified":"2014-08-25T19:21:31","modified_gmt":"2014-08-25T23:21:31","slug":"injuries-in-paulding-county-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/injuries-in-paulding-county-crash\/","title":{"rendered":"Injuries in Paulding County Crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/police-lights.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2159\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/police-lights-300x224.jpg?resize=300%2C224\" alt=\"police-lights\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" \/><\/a>Three people were hurt Sunday in a two-minivan crash in Paulding County, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said today.<\/p>\n<p>Police said Lewis Belcher, 72, of Paulding was driving west on County Road 232 about 9:10 a.m. when he failed to yield at County Road 143 and collided with a minivan driven by Shirley Hunsaker, 72, of Grover Hill.<\/p>\n<p>Hunsaker&#8217;s minivan spun off the roadway, overturning into a cornfield before coming to rest on its side in a ditch, police said. They said Belcher&#8217;s minivan came to rest in the cornfield.<\/p>\n<p>Hunsaker was taken to Defiance Regional Medical Center, then to a Fort Wayne hospital for treatment of her life-threatening injuries, police said. Her passenger, Dewayne Hunsaker, also was taken to Defiance and to Fort Wayne for treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Belcher was treated at Paulding County Hospital and released, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and all were wearing seat belts, police said. The air bags in both vehicles deployed.<\/p>\n<p>The crash remains under investigation.
