Barry Delong introduced each parade participant as they worked their way towards the Riverside Memorial Park. The Archer Band performed and Paulding High School band participated too, both performed great with the new school year starting soon.<\/p>\n<p>At the park Regan Clem, MC\u2019d the event and he introduced each of the entertainment lineup as their show time arrived. The award for \u201cGem of the Year\u201d was presented to Doug Bragg for all of his contributions to the community. The Antwerp Chamber Award of Friend of the Year.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/pZ9NV_AEmFE?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<p>The Antwerp Community Band sounded wonderful playing Sousa and many other classics and modern arrangements, serenading fair-goers through the lunch hour.<br \/>\nThe Dance Dolls captured the attention of the passersby with the familiar tunes and smooth dance moves.<\/p>\n<p>New this year was the Chalk Walk. Kids and adults had a great time drawing on the sidewalks for provided black paper and could draw anything. The theme was \u201cHere in Antwerp.&#8221; People passed by to stop in to see the local artists&#8217; work.<br \/>\nThis year the pie baking contest was won by Angela Walz, followed by Emily Tempel and Shawn Dooley Jr &amp; Heather Sapp.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Paulding-Sheriff-K-9.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-7881\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Paulding-Sheriff-K-9-300x200.jpg?resize=300%2C200\" alt=\"Paulding Sheriff K-9\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a>A crowd gathered for the K-9 demonstration by the Paulding County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>Many people helped with Day in the Park, but the standouts included Michelle Dooley, Nancy Lichty, Cheryl Lichty, Karl Mielke and Marilyn Provines of the Chamber. Michelle said all of the planning starts in February to make sure Day in the Park is a success, arranging all of the entertainment, parade, and much more.
