Montpelier \u2013 The Defiance post of the Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal two vehicle crash which occurred on Monday, August 4th at approximately 6:32pm.\u00a0 The crash occurred at the intersection of County Road I and County Road 10, township of Superior in Williams County.<\/p>\n
A 1998 Oldsmobile Silhouette, driven by Misty J. Rice, age 34 of Edon, Ohio, was westbound on County Road I.\u00a0 Rear passengers in the van were Rebecca Waters, age 5 of Edon, Ohio in a child restraint, and Cloye Wonsey, age7 of Camden, Michigan in a booster seat.\u00a0 Mrs. Rice was entering the intersection of county road I and county road 10 when her vehicle was struck by a northbound 1998 Honda CBR 900 motorcycle, driven by Robert Gray, age 27 of Pioneer, Ohio.\u00a0 Mr. Gray failed to stop at a stop sign.\u00a0 The Oldsmobile came to rest in the northwest corner of the intersection, heavily damaged.\u00a0 The Honda CBR motorcycle came to rest in the southwest corner of the intersection, heavily damaged.\u00a0 The intersection was partially closed for approximately two hours as a result of the crash.<\/p>\n
Mr. Gray was pronounced dead at the scene by the Williams County Assistant Coroner.\u00a0 Mrs. Rice and her two passengers were transported to Bryan Community Hospital where all three are listed in stable condition.\u00a0 At the time of the crash, a seatbelt was in use by Mrs. Rice and a helmet was in use by Mr. Gray.\u00a0 The crash currently remains under investigation.<\/p>\n
