{"id":6865,"date":"2014-05-22T16:37:25","date_gmt":"2014-05-22T20:37:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/?p=6865"},"modified":"2014-05-22T16:37:25","modified_gmt":"2014-05-22T20:37:25","slug":"2014-wayne-trace-high-school-graduation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.westbendnews.net\/autonews\/2014-wayne-trace-high-school-graduation\/","title":{"rendered":"2014 Wayne Trace High School Graduation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Graduation for the 2014 class of Wayne Trace Jr\/Sr High School is Sunday, May 25, at 2:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.<\/p>\n<p>This year Wayne Trace named nine co-valedictorians for the 2014 graduating class.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6871\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6871\" style=\"width: 224px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Poling-Madison.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6871\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Poling-Madison-224x300.jpg?resize=224%2C300\" alt=\"Madison Poling\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6871\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Madison Poling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Madison Poling<\/strong> of Grover Hill earned a 4.0 GPA. Her parents are Traci Poling and Doug Poling. She was a member of the National Honor Society, student council, basketball, cross country, and track. Awards she has earned include: Basketball \u2013 Most Improved, Scholar Athlete, Paulding County Honorable Mention, and Captain; Cross Country \u2013 Captain and MVP; Track \u2013 MVP. Her activities outside of school was the youth group at Woodburn Missionary Church. She has volunteered many hours through student council and NHS for the American Red Cross, United Way and Relay for Life.<br \/>\nMadison plans to attend Miami University of Oxford and major in Kinesiology. She would like to become a Occupational or Physical Therapist.<br \/>\nHer most memorable high school experience, \u201cWatching fellow classmates and peers play in the State football game, following the team along the way and just simply being a part of that amazing experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6874\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6874\" style=\"width: 196px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/young-sylvia.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-6874 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/young-sylvia-196x300.jpg?resize=196%2C300\" alt=\"young sylvia\" width=\"196\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6874\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sylvia Young<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Sylvia Young<\/strong> of Payne earned a 4.0 GPA. Her parents are John and Patty Young. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council, volleyball, and basketball. She earned Merit Honors, Geometry award, Algebra II award, Biology award, Adv. Math and Psychology awards, Student of the Month, and Buckeye Girls State delegate. Sports awards: Volleyball \u2013 All County Honorable Mention (2011-12), Paulding County Player of the Year 2013, GMC All Conference 1st Team, District 7 2nd Team (2013), Lima News Scholar Athlete of the Week, GMC Scholar Athlete, District 7 Scholar Athlete; Basketball \u2013 GMC Scholar Athlete, District 7 Scholar Athlete, All County Honorable Mention (2013); National Army Reserve Scholar Athlete of the Year. Other groups Sylvia participated in are Spanish club, office aide, tutor, Spirit club, and choir. She was also a part of the Junior Leaders 4-H club, 4-H camp counselor, and Grandlake Club Volleyball. Her volunteer work includes the American Red Cross, Country Inn Assisted Living, the Food Pantry, and Relay for Life.<br \/>\nSylvia plans to attend Ohio Northern University and majoring in Forensic Biology. She would like to work in a lab doing crime scene investigations.<br \/>\nHer most memorable experience of high school: \u201cSenior year because it is the last time for everything. Her parents are Kenny and Rhonda Stabler. She is a member of the National Honor Society (Renaissance committee), Softball, Volleyball, Divine Mercy Catholic Church altar server, Lector, Confirmation retreat assistant, took piano lessons, Student Council, Spanish club (VP), and Spirit club. She earned departmental awards \u2013 English 9, Spanish II, III, US\/World History 10, , Adv. Chemistry, Academic Letter, 1st Honor; GMC and District 7 Scholar Athlete, Softball Coach\u2019s Award, All County Honorable Mention, and GMC Honorable Mention.<br \/>\nLibby plans to attend the University of Findlay and major in Pharmacy. She wants to become a hospital pharmacist in Northwest Ohio.<br \/>\n\u201cI have really enjoyed my senior softball season so far, and I hope that we have many good games to look forward to as we continue our tournament trail.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6872\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6872\" style=\"width: 239px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Sherry-Jared.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-6872 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Sherry-Jared-239x300.jpg?resize=239%2C300\" alt=\"Sherry Jared\" width=\"239\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6872\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jared Sherry<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Jared Sherry<\/strong> of Briceton earned a 4.0 GPA. His parents are Jim and Bobbie Sherry. He is involved in the National Honor Society, Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, yearbook, and basketball at the Nazarene Church. Awards earned during high school: Football \u2013 1st Team All County Running Back, 2nd Team All County Linebacker, 1st Team Running Back (Van Wert area), 2nd Team All Conference Running Back, 2nd Team All Conference Linebacker, Honorable Mention District Running Back, and Paulding County Scholar Athlete.<br \/>\nJared plans to attend The Ohio State University at the Columbus campus and will major in Exercise Science. He plans to continue on and pursue his doctorate in Physical Therapy.<br \/>\n\u201cMy most memorable experience of High School is playing in the OHSAA Division 6 Football State Championship alongside some of my best friends in front of an amazing fan base.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6870\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6870\" style=\"width: 239px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/McClure-Madison.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-6870\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/McClure-Madison-239x300.jpg?resize=239%2C300\" alt=\"Madison McClure\" width=\"239\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6870\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Madison McClure<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Madison McClure<\/strong> of Grover Hill earned a 4.0 GPA. Her parents are Terry and Lisa McClure. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council. She played volleyball and softball. She is also involved in FCA, 4-H, volunteered at the local food pantry, and yearbook. She received many awards of the highest honor throughout high school; in Volleyball \u2013 GMC Honorable Mention, 1st Team Paulding County, GMC and District Scholar Athlete.<br \/>\nMadison plans to attend The Ohio State University and major in Business. She plans to return to Paulding County to pursue her career.<br \/>\n\u201cMy most memorable experience of high school is cheering on the football team as they made it to state.\u201d<br \/>\n<strong>Haley Linder<\/strong> of Briceton earned a 4.0 GPA in her high school career. Her parents are Jim and Jane Linder. She is involved in National Honor Society (secretary), choir, Student Council, Spirit club, church youth group, and church choir. She volunteers at the local food pantry and sings at nursing homes.<br \/>\nShe plans to attend Northwest State Community College and major in Business. She is the daughter of Patrick and Wendy Baumle. She is involved in the National Honor Society, choir, spring musicals, Student Council, 4-H, Club volleyball, and a 4-H camp counselor. She volunteered her time for various projects at Payne Elementary. She earned a 4-year Academic Letter, 4-year 1st Academic Honors, GMC Scholar Athlete, and District 7 Scholar Athlete.<br \/>\nMadeline\u2019s most memorable high school experience was going to New York City with the choir.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6867\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6867\" style=\"width: 239px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Klopfenstein-Matthew.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-6867 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/westbendnews.net\/autonews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Klopfenstein-Matthew-239x300.jpg?resize=239%2C300\" alt=\"Klopfenstein Matthew\" width=\"239\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6867\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Matthew Klopfenstein<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Matthew Klopfenstein<\/strong> of Haviland earned a 4.0 GPA. His parents are Roy and Deborah Klopfenstein. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, track (senior), basketball (freshman), FFA, yearbook, 4-H, church youth group, and junior Fair board. He volunteers at the local food pantry and Country Inn Assisted Living.<br \/>\nMatthew plans to attend The Ohio State University majoring in Agricultural Engineering. She is a member of the National Honor Society, dances at KHDW, and volunteers at the American Red Cross.<br \/>\nAfter high school, she plans to attend University of Toledo and major in Accounting and Finance.
